Please notify the Counseling Office if you are not planning to return to Pleasant Valley School District next year.

There will be no Activity Busses on Tuesday and Friday.

Students going on the Washington D.C. trip who missed the informational meeting need to see Ms. Larsen in room 33 to get your materials. Also, medical release forms have been emailed to your parents and can be returned to Ms. Larsen any time in the next couple of weeks.

PE make-ups will be Wednesday this week after school. Anyone needing to make up a PE class can do that in the “A” gym from 2:30 until 3:10 pm. For the last two weeks of school, PE make-ups will be on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. You will need to have a ride home if there are no activity busses.

Any 8th grader interested in being a member of Freshman Spartan Assembly can pick up an application in the main office or see Mrs. Deets in the orchestra room. Applications are due back by Wednesday, May 23rd.

The votes are in! The final Book Muncher’s meeting will be from 5:30-7:00 p.m. May 15th at Chik-fil-A on 53rd Avenue in Bettendorf. Arrive ready to chat about Adrift by Paul Griffin.

Partners with a Purpose will having our final meeting of the year on May 21st from 3:15 to 5:00. We will have snacks, games and will be going to the gym to celebrate our year together. Everyone is welcome!

Students, as we near the end of the school year, please make sure that you have enough money in your lunch account to purchase a lunch through Friday, June 1st. Remember that any money left in your account will carry over to the next school year even if you are going to the High School. In addition to lunch accounts, we ask that you pay any outstanding balances prior to the June 1st. Outstanding balances may include such items as library fees, lost items, or damaged books,

Students entering 7th & 8th grade in Fall 2018: The Health Careers Adventure Camp will be from July 16 – 20, from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm at St. Ambrose University Campus & the Center for Health Sciences Education. PVJH Robotics is open to all current 6th graders and 7th graders. There are no restrictions or prerequisites to joining, so students of any level are invited to register. Meeting dates and times will be announced at a later date once the group is selected. Joining the FLL (First Lego League) Team costs $50, but will not need to be sent in with a permission slip until you receive a welcome letter for the team. Registration ends May 18th at 6:00 p.m.

Please help disadvantaged kids in our community! Donate any new or gently used sports equipment today! Many local kids have the desire to play sports, but aren’t able to play because they can’t afford the required gear. All donations will benefit local kids! Donate today! Summer Employment Opportunity – Must be 14 years old by June 20th, 2018. Weekly pay with Starting Wage: $11.00 per hour. ASinc. – Advance Services, Inc. – hiring for Summer Pollinating Positions at Corteva Agriscience, the agriculture division of DowDuPont, Davenport. Pick up a flyer in the Counseling Office.

AAU Iowa Football Club 14U Tryouts, WHEN: May 19th; July 14th; July 21st, WHERE: Bettendorf Middle School Football Field, WHO: Any student from Iowa or Illinois who is at least 13 years old and cannot turn 15 before August 31, 2018. All participants must be in 7th or 8th grade. No Weight limits. The season will probably run from October (after JH season) until December. Anyone interested please pick up a flyer in the Main Office. See Mr. Duncan if you have any questions.
