Last Day of School Reminder: The last day of school on Friday, June 1st will be a half day for all elementary schools, with dismissal at 11:30 a.m.

Bridgeview Walk-A-Thon: Walk-a-thon will be held on Friday, April 20th from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. This year’s theme will be “Recess Rocks”. The funds raised from walk-a-thon will go towards new equipment and games for recess play. The goal is to raise $4,000!  The PTA will be collecting donations the week of April 16th. The students will be divided into teams and competing in a donation war for daily prizes during the week of walk-a-thon.  Please return all donations by Friday, April 20th.  Thank you for your support!

Staff Appreciation Week – Staff Appreciation week begins Monday, April 30th to Friday, May 4th. The PTA will be providing food each day for the Bridgeview staff based upon a theme created by Alysia Huffman and Stephanie Kirby.

Visiting Author Book Signing: This year, PVCSD has the privilege of hosting Sarah Weeks as our Visiting Author!  To prepare for her upcoming visit to Cody on Friday, April 20th, you can purchase your own books for Sarah to sign.  Students now have until April 18th to get their books to Cody to be signedClick here for more information on what books you can order and which would be appropriate for your student.

Last Day of School Reminder: The last day of school on Friday, June 1st will be a half day for all elementary schools, with dismissal at 11:30 a.m.

April PTA Meeting Date Change:  The PTA meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 19th at 6:30 p.m. has been moved to Tuesday, April 17th at 6:30 p.m. so that families can enjoy Fine Arts Night at Hopewell.  Thanks!

Hopewell Fine Arts Night: Join Hopewell for their annual Fine Arts Night on Thursday, April 19 at 6:00 p.m.!  There will be artwork on display from all Hopewell students, and performances by Hopewell Harmony, 4th and 5th Grade Choir, and the 6th Grade Band.  If your child is a Hopewell Harmony member, please have them report to the library at 5:45 p.m., and if your child is in the 6th Grade Band, please have them report to the music room at 5:45 p.m. that evening.  See you on the 19th!

Book Fair Helpers Needed: Hopewell’s final book fair of the year, the BOGO Fair, will be on Thursday, April 19th, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Please click here to help with set-up or tear down.  Thank you!  Contact Kelly Reiter with questions: kloreiter@yahoo.com.

Grandparents/Special Visitors Day: Pleasant View Grandparents/Special Visitors Day is Friday April 20th from 9:00-11:00 a.m.  Coffee and refreshments will be served starting at 8:30 a.m. in the gym.  Please consider volunteering to help with set up and to serve refreshments to welcome the special visitors by clicking here.

Washington D.C. Trip Informational Meeting: The informational meeting for those signed up for this June’s Washington D.C. trip will be held on Monday, May 7th at 6:30 p.m. in the junior high library.  The meeting will be used to review the trip itinerary, packing list, and other important materials.  Students and parents are highly encouraged to come, if possible.  Please contact Ms. Larsen at larsensarah@pleasval.k12.ia.us if you are unable to attend or have any questions.

PV Trap Team Trivia Night:  Come join the PV Trap Team TONIGHT for a night of trivia fun at the LeClaire Fire Station, 201 North 15th Street, LeClaire, Iowa.  Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and trivia begins at 7:00 p.m.  There will be Silent Auction Raffles, Basket Raffles, and a bake sale!  It is also suggested that you bring your own food and drink.  Cost is $8.00 per person/$80.00 for a table of 8 and you pay at the door.  All funds will benefit the PV Trap Team.  Please call/text Kris Hornbuckle Wehrman at 563-949-7122 with questions.

College & Career Planning Night:    PVHS Counselors are hosting a College & Career Planning Night on Wednesday, April 18th at 7:00 p.m. in the theatre.  All PV sophomores and their parents are invited to attend this informational meeting concerning post-graduate plans.  Iowa College Access Network (ICAN) will present information pertinent to college planning.  Materials will also be provided by the presenter.  Any questions, contact the Counseling Office at 563-332-6250.

PVHS PTA Right After Prom Donations: Pleasant Valley High School PTA is very proud to sponsor one of the best after-prom parties in the area and typically hosts nearly 500 students each year. This success is a direct credit to the generous support received from the community and parents. Since this event is primarily funded by donations*, the PVHS PTA is asking for your support to carry on our tradition of providing a fun, safe after-prom celebration.  Click here for the official letter with information on how to donate!

PVHS PTA RAP Volunteers Needed:  Prom is quickly approaching, and that means the PVHS PTA needs your help with the Right After Prom (RAP) program!  They are looking for volunteers to help make this a fun and safe night for PV kids!  This event can’t happen without the help of volunteers!
