Coffee with the Principal: Please join Mr. Welch and other Hopewell parents for Dunn Brothers coffee, casual conversations, and questions on Friday, May 4th, 8:30-9:00 a.m. in the cafeteria. Hope you can make it!

Yearbook Orders:  Hopewell is now taking additional orders for the 2017-18 Hopewell yearbook. The cost is $16.00.  Please make the check payable to “PVCSD” with a note attached stating: “Yearbook” and which student and classroom the yearbook should be delivered to when it arrives (“Joe Smith 5G”). Your yearbook order will not be placed until payment is received.

  • To see if you have ordered a 2017-18 Hopewell yearbook, please check your Parent Portal at pleasval.org/parent-homepage/.  Click on “Select a Student” and select your Hopewell student. Click on the “Fees” tab on the left and look for a fee labeled Yearbook-HW 2017-18. If this fee is not there, you have not ordered a yearbook. If you have multiple students at Hopewell please check all your students, as the fee may have been applied to just one of your students.

Request for Hopewell Harvest Silent Auction Items: No, it’s not fall yet, but plans are already underway for Hopewell Harvest 2018!  The PTA Silent Auction committee is hard at work coming up with basket ideas and seeking out donations from the local community. If you are interested in joining the committee or have an item you would like to donate to next fall’s Harvest, please contact Marie Feehan at feehanmarie@gmail.com. The committee will turn anything you donate into a fabulous basket. Items desired include:

  • Monetary donations
  • Gift cards to local businesses
  • Tickets to local events
  • Items to go into the baskets such as toys, games, etc.
  • Empty baskets or containers that can be used for assembling baskets

Hopewell Harvest is our school’s largest fundraiser of the year and the Silent Auction is an important part of the event. This year, Harvest brought in over $26,000 for programs such as the Visiting Artist/Visiting Author, the Variety Show and the Family Fun Nights. The money was also used to fill teacher grant requests for items such as ukuleles and beat blocks for the music room, class books for 3rd and 6th grades, and craft supplies for Kindergarten.

It’s important we have your support in order to make this event a success. Please Contact Marie Feehan at feehanmarie@gmail.com by May 11th with your donation intents. Remember, there is no Walk-a-Thon this year, so a silent auction donation is a great way to support the Hopewell PTA this spring!

Lost And Found: “Where is my hooded sweatshirt?”  “I can’t find my other glove!”  If this sounds familiar, please come and check out Hopewell’s lost and found table.  Lost and found items will be available for pick-up through Friday, May 18th (Flag Ceremony Day).  Unclaimed items will be donated.

6th Grade FLL Coach: Hopewell is looking for a coach for our 6th grade FLL team! Participating in FLL is an amazing experience for both the kids and the adults involved. No technical background needed, the team members are the ones who do the work. You only need to ask the questions and watch them… GO!  Learn more at firstinspires.org! The season runs from August to December. If you have any questions, PLEASE call Jill Gneiting at 563-542-1553 or email her at jill.gneiting@gmail.com.

PTA Committee Chair Openings 2018-19: The following committee chair positions are open for the 2018-19 school year.  If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact Sara Sierk (sarasierk@hotmail.com).  If no one fills these positions we will not be able to provide Hopewell with some wonderful opportunities.  Please consider sharing your time! Thank you!

  • Communications Co-Chair
