Cody PTA Meeting:  The first Cody PTA meeting will be Tuesday, August 28 at 8:30 a.m. at Cody in the science room. Coffee will be served and there will be time to answer any questions new families may have.  See you there!

Cody Fall Frolic:  The Cody PTA needs your help soliciting silent auction donations for the fall frolic Friday September 21st.  Click here to access the auction letter and click here to access the donation form with additional details.  The Cody Fall Frolic is the biggest fundraiser of the year, with proceeds raised going towards the purchase of additional playground equipment and classroom technology.  Thank you for your support.

School VisitorsPlease remember Cody requires a photo ID if you have business past the front office.  Also, the school has an intercom to use for those entering the school.  Activation of the intercom calls the office, so please be prepared to announce why you are visiting.

Updated Hopewell Traffic Pattern:  With the new traffic pattern at Hopewell, please remember, if you are turning right, westbound, out of the parking lot, you will need to turn in front of the school and exit out the far west drive. Principal Coffee: Chris Welch hosts a coffee gathering (with coffee and treats) monthly giving parents an opportunity to chat. There have been a couple of incorrect dates posted. For August and September there is one coffee gathering Tuesday August 28 8:30 a.m. to about 9:00 a.m. Please join Chris and other parents.

Hopewell Harmony:  Hopewell Elementary is thrilled to offer a 4th and 5th grade choir for the 2018-2019 school year. The ensemble is designed to create another opportunity for our students to express their love of music. The choir will be directed by Ms. Casey and will perform several times throughout the year including Winter Program, Fine Arts Night, and a Quad City Storm hockey game. The choir will meet every Tuesday after school from 3:00-3:45pm.  All transportation is the responsibility of the parent.  Rehearsals will begin on Tuesday September 18, 2018. Each student will pay $10 to cover the cost of their T-Shirt.   To sign up, please do the following:

First Lego League Team Sign Up: Hopewell Elementary is seeking 6th grade applicants for the 2018-2019 First Lego League Team. This team meets on a regular basis to construct, code, and compete using a Lego robot and Lego FLL challenges. If you are interested in this program please complete this form prior to September 1st!

Volunteers Needed for Junior First Lego League (JrFLL): The Junior First Lego (JrFLL) program at Hopewell Elementary is in need of parent volunteers for our fall program. If you are interested in learning more about volunteering, please sign up here. No experience is needed!

Kindergarten Parent Open House:  The PTA is sponsoring an open house for all kindergarten parents on Tuesday, August 28th from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.  Please feel free to stop by and enjoy coffee and a bite to eat while visiting with other kindergarten parents. Childcare will be provided from 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.  The breakfast will be held at Roopa Goswami’s home, 4812 School House Road (2 blocks from the school).  You should have received an invitation from your child’s teacher at Meet and Greet. Message from Career Center:  Greetings from the Career Center! Mary Johnson, the Career Coordinator, has a variety of opportunities throughout the year for students. These opportunities are posted in the Announcements on the High School’s Career Center page and on FB/Twitter. Colleges & Military Admissions visits to the high school can also be found on the Career Center webpage.  New this year is a Career Center Bulletin Board which will have job postings, upcoming events and Career & Post-Secondary information.  The CC Bulletin Board can be found in the cafeteria near the Career Center/Service Learning entrance.  Activities include Lunch & Learns, tours and activities in the community.
