Message from Counseling Office:  SENIOR PARENTS – All 12th grade students were invited to attend a session of Senior Seminar this week.  This program is designed to provide seniors with helpful information regarding college planning.  Topics included applying for admission/scholarships/financial aid, accessing transcripts and requesting letters of recommendation.  We encourage you to view the Senior Seminar PowerPoint (CLICK HERE FOR POWERPOINT)and discuss these things with your student.  Please pay special attention to the “Important Dates” for this fall and watch for further information regarding Parchment, our new electronic transcript service.  Counselors also asked seniors to complete a survey (CLICK HERE FOR SURVEY) to share post-secondary plans.  This will assist us in providing future programming and improving individual communication with our students.    Thank you for your assistance in confirming that your son/daughter completed the survey.  Best wishes for an exciting and successful senior year!

PVHS Counseling Services: PVHS is happy to report on the continuation of counseling services from Vera French.  Kaitlyn Dwyer will have office hours at PVHS on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 8:00 to 3:00.  According to Vera French, “The premise of the school-based program is that many children aren’t receiving necessary mental health services because their parents or guardians are unable to get them to or maintain regular therapy appointments due to a number of barriers (transportation, time, etc). Placing a therapist in the school helps overcome these barriers and reach more children.  The focus of the program is to address emotional issues and teach children skills to overcome challenges interfering with their success in school and overall emotional functioning.” If you would like more information regarding Vera French services, please contact Kaitlyn at dwyerk@verafrenchmhc.org
