FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Week 2 of school is almost in the books, and it has been a great success. We have been having some fun this week with celebrating reading and "becoming a book worm"...Being a "Bridgeview Book Worm" is super cool! :-)
Speaking of enjoying good books, we had a record number of participants in our LeClaire and Bettendorf Library Summer Reading Programs. Thank you parents for being advocates for your children celebrating literacy and reading for enjoyment!
I also want to thank parents and other drivers who have done an AWESOME job following our parking lot procedures, especially with being timely so that our staggered start of preschool at 8:40 and dismissal at 3:10 have gone well. Thank you for being diligent on our procedures!
Next week marks our community's homecoming celebrations. You’ll find information below about the festivities. Make sure your child(ren) returns their permission slips by Wednesday of next week if they and/or you are participating in the Homecoming Parade on Thursday evening. Current weather forecasts look perfect for a parade. We would love to have you join us in our walk and celebration of PV Spartan Homecoming.
Thanks for your partnership in learning!

Stay Home When Sick: We have seen a high number of students visiting the health office within the first hour of school. As a reminder, a child should be kept home when the child’s illness causes one or more of the following:
· Elevated temperature (fever defined as >100 degrees will be sent home and can return after fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication)
· Vomiting and/or diarrhea (can return after 24 hours with no vomiting/diarrhea)
· Child feels unwell: cough, low grade temp, headache, sore throat, allergies that causes disruption and/or prevents the child from participating comfortably in learning.
· An acute change in behavior: lethargy, irritability, persistent crying, difficulty breathing, or new rash.
When in doubt please contact your personal health care provider. We appreciate you working with us to promote the health and safety of our PV community.

We will have the kids selling raffle tickets for some awesome prizes! The raffle tickets will be sent home today so make sure you check their backpack before the weekend starts! It will be outdoors this year with games, food, a dessert truck, a dunk tank, a bounce house obstacle course, balloon artist and more!
Donuts with Grownups will be held on Friday, October 1st! We are currently still planning details as this will be an outdoor event as well. Thanks as always for your patience as we navigate this new outdoor events terrain!
Our next PTA meeting will be Wednesday, October 6th at 5:30 pm. We will be holding our meetings outside at the pavilion by the playground *weather permitting* and we are hoping to set up a virtual option for anyone that would like to listen in but can't make it.
