Reminder:  No School October 22 and 25!  Have a wonderful fall break!

#PVPride:  PV’s Sara Russell has been named 2022 Iowa Teacher of the Year!  This is an amazing achievement for Mrs. Russell and our district.  Learn more here!  Share your #PVPride by emailing or posting to our facebook page!

Parking Lot Safety: We're hoping to partner together to make our parking lots as safe as possible.  To do this, we ask that everyone use the crosswalk in front of our main entrance when crossing the parking lot. Also, refrain from cell phone use when operating your vehicle on school grounds. Our parking lot procedures are linked here for your review.  Thank you for keeping our parking lot safe.

ALICE Training Next Week: Each elementary building in the district will be practicing the different drills that students need to be aware of in case of an emergency. One drill that we will practice is the ALICE drill. ALICE stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate. The homeroom teacher and I will discuss the importance of practicing this drill, along with fire drills and severe weather drills. We do this to help students not be scared of unexpected things that may happen during our school day, and to be smart and prepared about what to do if those situations arise.

We will discuss the one key way to know if there is an intruder in the building is that they will not be wearing a badge. All “safe” adults should be wearing badges throughout the day, even our visitors. Most important of all in our discussion is that students ALWAYS look and listen to their teacher. They do not need to remember anything about what to do, only to look and listen to their teacher. We will further discuss the students telling us there is an intruder in the building, and where their designated safe spot in the classroom would be. We will tell them where to exit the building if the teacher instructs them to do so, and the importance of remaining quiet so they know where to meet their teacher after exiting the building. We wanted to let you know all of this so you could have a conversation about our visit with your child and to give you a heads up about questions your child may bring to you.

Feel free to call or email your child’s classroom teacher or Lisa Albrecht, the Bridgeview Counselor, if you have any questions about this presentation.

Halloween Parties will be at the end of the day on Friday, October 29.  We will limit in-class visitors to the two PTA room parents.  However, all families are invited to our outside parade at 2:10pm – weather permitting.  As a reminder, please have your child choose a costume that brings out the best in them.  No weapons or particularly gory costumes.  We can't wait to see your creativity!

Elementary Winter Program Announcement:  We are excited to share our plans for our elementary musicians this winter. We will be delaying our traditional, all-school program to the Spring. We know our K-6 Winter Programs are well-attended, and we are not yet at the point to fill our elementary gymnasiums with families and friends supporting our students.  Look for more information in the Spring regarding an all-school program.

We WILL be holding a 6th Grade Band and 5/6th Grade Chorus Concert at the end of November.  On November 29 at 6:00pm, the Bridgeview 6th Grade Band and 5/6th Chorus will perform. Two individuals per family will be able to attend this concert at our gymnasium. These concerts will also be recorded and posted to PV's youtube page and website. Thank you for understanding these changes and we look forward to November's concert and the Spring's all-school program!

Flu Shot Clinics:  Genesis Flu Free Quad Cities is holding a free flu shot clinic for PV elementary schools.  We have scheduled Bridgeview Elementary school for Tuesday November 2nd at 8:30 am. If you are interested, please fill out this form 2 days prior to the event to give parental consent.
