Elementary Conferences: Cody Fall Conferences will be in-person (IP), virtual (V) or both (B) (if one parent is able to meet in person but the other parent needs to meet virtually-but during the same time slot) and last 20 minutes in length.  We will not be scheduling two separate conferences for parents of the same child.  The scheduling window is open now and will close at Noon on Friday, October 29, 2021. Please select your child's class/teacher by clicking here. Enter your preference (in-person or virtual) after your name during the signup process. 

 

School Board Elections:  On November second, PV residents of Director Districts 1,2 and 7 can vote for school board directors in three districts.  Click here to learn about your voter district and polling places.

Flu Shot Clinics:  Genesis Flu Free Quad Cities is holding a free flu shot clinic for PV elementary schools. We have scheduled Cody Elementary School for Tuesday November 2nd at 8:30 am. If you are interested, please fill out this form 2 days prior to the event to give parental consent.

Halloween Parties will be at the end of the day on Friday, October 29.  We will limit in-class visitors to the two PTA room parents.  However, all families are invited to our outside parade at 2:10pm – weather permitting.  As a reminder, please have your child choose a costume that brings out the best in them.  No weapons or particularly gory costumes.  We can't wait to see your creativity!

PTA Reflections: Entries are due next week!  Before school on October 27 and 28, a Reflections chairperson will be at a PTA table outside the main office to collect all projects. Student Hunger Drive: Students for Pleasant Valley High School will be Trick-or-Treating Halloween weekend (10/30 &10/31) not for candy but for non-perishable food items as a part of the Student Hunger Drive. If you would like to donate but will not be home or someone does not stop by your house, please contact hartrachel@pleasval.org or millerzach@pleasval.org to make arrangements. Thank you for your support!

FROM THE PTA

The Scholastic Book Fair is back! We are so excited to have an in-person fair From Tuesday, November 2nd - Monday, November 8th!  There will be tons of great books to choose from!

·         The fair will be open in person for all students during lunch hours and for parents during Parent/Teacher conferences on Thursday, November 4th from 3:00pm-8:00pm.  You can also shop from home at the Online Scholastic Fair  featuring 5,000+ products anytime between Monday, November 1st and Sunday, November 14th.  Online orders over $25.00 (books only) will ship free to your home. 

·         Not sure how much money your child needs to shop the fair during the day? No worries! Sign up for an E-Wallet. No more lost money or not enough money to make a purchase. It's a virtual wallet! Deposit a predetermined amount of money in the E-Wallet and any funds not used will be credited back to you! Learn more about E-Wallet here.  

·         All proceeds from the fair benefit the Cody Elementary School Library and classroom libraries. 

·         We can’t have Book Fair without your help.  We are looking for volunteers to help during open hours as well as set up and tear down.  If you would like to help with book fair check out our volunteer opportunities.

ATHLETICS & ACTIVITIES

FLL Robotics:  Cody is looking for a coach for its FLL Robotics Team!  The coach would work with 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders. The program will start this year in Spring, but only if we can find a coach. If you are interested or have questions, please reach out to Varsha Saroha at sarohavarsha@pleasval.org.
