The PSAT will be held on Tuesday, January 26th.  This test is a Practice SAT – scores are not reported to colleges.  Students must still take the ACT or SAT for college admission purposes.  The PSAT is also the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.  Juniors who score in the top 1-2% nationwide are typically considered for the National Merit Finalist designation.  Space is limited for this exam.  Juniors will be given priority and sophomores will be considered for any remaining spots.  Cost is $17 and will be added to school fees when registration is confirmed.  Students can pay online at the PV WebStore or by check made payable to PVHS.  The registration link can be found HERE  and in the Google Classrooms for the CLASS OF 2022 and CLASS of 2023.

Attention all parents of student-athletes grades 9-12:  The Governor's proclamation waiving the scholarship rule (Iowa Code 36.15 (2)) has expired.  The scholarship rule (no pass, no play) will be applied at the end of the 1st semester.  Please make sure your student(s) is passing all classes.  A non-passing grade will result in competitive ineligibility for 30 days.  If you have questions, please reach out to the Activities Office.

Reflections Ceremony: Because of social distancing guidelines due to COVID-19, the PTA Reflections Ceremony will be a bit different this year. Instead of the typical live ceremony, we will release a video featuring all of our students’ entries and students will be receiving their awards at school from their principal next week. Student projects that did not advance to State will be returned to them next week and projects that have advanced to State will be returned at a later date. Thank you for encouraging your child to participate in the PTA Reflections program.
