Graduation: PVHS faculty and staff are continuing to finalize plans for a live graduation for the class of 2021.  We will be holding graduation Sunday, May 30th, 2021 3:30pm at the TaxSlayer Center, Moline, IL 61265.  Each graduate will receive 6 tickets.  Please look for more information Friday afternoon!!


ISASP Testing: In May, we will administer the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP). The assessments are aligned with the Iowa Core Standards and will measure both student proficiency and growth in the areas of Math, Reading, Language/Writing and Science.  ISASP is used for state and federal student accountability purposes and to determine if students will qualify for extended learning opportunities.  Learn more about ISASP here.

PVHS Online students will test at the following times:

May 7, 12:30-2pm (Math grades 9, 10, 11)

May 14, 12:30-2:00 pm (Reading grades 9,10,11) and 2:15-3:45pm (Science grade 10)

May 21, 12:30-2:30pm (Writing grades 9,10,11)

May 28, 12:30-4:00pm (Make-ups grade 9,10,11)


PV-Issued Devices: All 9-11th grade HS students in person and online, will be allowed to keep their devices throughout the summer and be expected to bring them back in working order for the next school year. If you would prefer to check the device and charger back into the school prior to summer break you must contact Mr. Pagett before June 4. 12th grade students will be returning their school issued chromebook May 25 and 26 as part of their checkout process.

·         If your student does not plan on attending Pleasant Valley Schools for the 2021-22 school year the device must be returned to Mr. Pagett prior to the student’s last day of school or a fee will be assessed for the replacement cost. 

·         For those families that decide to unenroll their student during the summer months, please contact the technology director Kevin Pennekamp at pennekampkevin@pleasval.org or 563-332-5550 to set up a time to return the device.

·         Any technical issues with your device over the summer or if you need something repaired, you can email the technology director Kevin Pennekamp at pennekampkevin@pleasval.org to set up a time to drop it off at the administration office (525 Belmont Rd).


RAP: Our Right After Prom Event is all set for Saturday, May 8th from 11 PM to 2AM at the TBK Bank Sports Complex.  Please share this flyer  with your student.  You will find our schedule of events for the night and you can take a sneak peek at some of our raffle items.  We will certainly have some very lucky winners!  Thank you to all parent volunteers who have signed up to help at this special event.  Reminders and information will be emailed to all of our volunteers next week. Thank you to our PV families, community members, and businesses for your donations that have made this event possible! 

Meals Available for At-Home Learners: Meals will be available every Monday from 10:00 am – 11:00 am for 100% online learners.  You’ll pick up all your meals for the entire week.  You must fill out this form every week by Monday at 6:00am to register for the meals.  Meals are currently free because of a government program.

Bettendorf Parks and Recreation: QC Basketball Complete Essential Skills Trainings Improve your basketball skills and confidence at this seven-week youth basketball program at the Life Fitness Center. Coach Joseph Hill and Coach Zac Myers from the Quad City United and Quad City Basketball Academy offer a high-energy environment for you to hone in on your strengths, work on your weaknesses, and learn how to play competitively in a team setting. Saturdays May 8, 15, 22, 29, and June 12, 19, and 26. Each Saturday is $30. Registration deadline for each week is the Thursday prior. All programs are held at the Life Fitness Center from 5-7pm. Skill Level Preferred – Intermediate, Ages - 8-12 years old – Coed. Click here to register today!


Bettendorf Parks and Recreation: Summer Playgrounds Program Let us help your child have a summer packed with fun! Encourage them to attend their neighborhood Playgrounds program! Seven locations are staffed to provide your child with a variety of supervised activities including athletics, games, special visitors, arts and crafts, field trips, and MUCH more! This program is for children ages 5-12 (must have completed Kindergarten). Program Runs June 7-August 6 and meets EVERY Monday-Friday from 12:30pm-4:00pm.
