The PSAT will be given on Wednesday, October 13th in the PVHS gym. This test is an optional, practice SAT – scores are not reported to colleges. Students must still take the ACT or SAT for college admission purposes. The PSAT is also the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Juniors who score in the top 1-2% nationwide are considered for National Merit Finalist designation. Cost is $18 and will be added to school fees when registration is confirmed. Students can then pay online at the PV WebStore or by check made payable to PVHS. Free test preparation is available at collegeboard.org or Khan Academy.
Students must visit the PVHS Counseling office to register for the PSAT prior to Wednesday, October 6th. We will not accept registration via email or voice message. Space is limited for this exam to 100 students. Juniors will be given priority and sophomores will be considered for any remaining spots. This announcement will also be posted in the Class of 2023 and Class of 2024 Google Classrooms to remind students of the registration procedure and deadline.
