ANNOUNCEMENTS

Stay Home When Sick:  We have seen a high number of students visiting the health office within the first hour of school. As a reminder, a child should be kept home when the child’s illness causes one or more of the following:

·         Elevated temperature (fever defined as >100 degrees will be sent home and can return after fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication)

·         Vomiting and/or diarrhea (can return after 24 hours with no vomiting/diarrhea)

·         Child feels unwell: cough, low grade temp, headache, sore throat, allergies that causes disruption and/or prevents the child from participating comfortably in learning.

·         An acute change in behavior: lethargy, irritability, persistent crying, difficulty breathing, or new rash.

When in doubt please contact your personal health care provider. We appreciate you working with us to promote the health and safety of our PV community.

Riding the Bus with Friends: A notice to parents that at this time students are unable to ride the bus home after school with friends. The only instance in which a child may ride the bus home with a friend is if the students are assigned to the same bus and the student provides a note from a parent/guardian stating they have permission to get off at their friend’s bus stop.

Outside Deliveries: Please do not have items delivered to your students to the JH from outside businesses, i.e., restaurant deliveries, balloon, and flower deliveries. We do acknowledge student’s birthdays at the JH through our daily announcements but deliveries can cause a disturbance in the students day and make items difficult to navigate in our hallways and on the bus.

Washington, D.C. Trip Meeting, Wednesday, September 8th:  Any students/parents interested in learning more about next summer’s trip to Washington D.C. are invited to attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, September 8th at 6:00 P.M. in the PVJH library.  We will go over dates, cost, and registration information at that time.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Klauer at klauerabby@pleasval.org.

Run with Carl: The race is on!  Join us on Monday, September 6 for Run with Carl!  You can still register here for the kids ½ mile, kids 1 mile, the 5k, 5 mile. Remember proceeds benefit the Pleasant Valley Educational Foundation’s Scholarship Program!
