ISASP Testing Information

UPDATE 3/26/2020:  ISASP testing has been canceled for the 2019-2020 school year.

Dear Pleasant Valley Families

Starting on March 24, the district will be administering the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) in the elementaries. Developed by the Iowa Testing Programs Center at the University of Iowa, the assessment aligns with the Iowa Core standards to track student progress in a variety of subjects.

The assessments will be administered from March 24 to April 9.  Students will not test every day during that window. As this is an online test and computers are needed, different grades will test at different times.

Students will be tested in the following areas:

  • Math: Grades 3-6
  • English Language Arts, including reading and writing: Grades 3-6
  • Science: Grades 5

For test security purposes, the state does not allow phones or any smart devices in the testing area. Students will be asked to secure cell phones and devices in their lockers. Phones and smart devices must be turned off during testing to reduce traffic on our network system.

We encourage you to make sure your student attends school and gets adequate rest during the testing window.
