PTA Reflections Open House & Awards Ceremony: You and your family are invited to the Pleasant Valley Schools PTA Reflections Open House & Awards Ceremony on Thursday, January 19, 2023 beginning at 6:30pm in the Pleasant Valley High School Cafeteria. The first half-hour will be an open house for you to view students' artwork and the awards ceremony will begin at 7:00pm in the auditorium. Student participants will be photographed for submission to the local paper.
Wall of Honor: The Wall of Honor Program was established in 1999 to recognize distinguished alumni who have graduated from Pleasant Valley High School. Nominees must have graduated 10 years or more prior to induction and must meet the following criteria:
- Academic Success
- Outstanding success in their career
- Distinguished human service

ATHLETICS & ACTIVITIES
Cody School Spelling Bee: Cody students in 3rd-6th grade are invited to participate in the Scripps School Spelling Bee after school Thursday January 26, 2023 in Cody Library. The winner of the Cody School spelling bee will be invited to compete in the regional competition on Saturday, February 25th at Augustana College at 1:00pm. In the event that our school winner is unable to attend the regional competition we will offer the opportunity to our runner up. Click here to register and here for this year’s list of words. FLL Explore Grades 2-4: Does your child like working with LEGO? Would they like to learn the basics of engineering and problem solving? If so, they would love FLL Explore! In Explore, teams focus on the fundamentals of engineering as they explore real-world problems, learn to design, code, and create unique solutions made with LEGO bricks and powered by LEGO Education SPIKE Essential. Teams will meet twice a week for four weeks from 3:05 until 4:30pm at their school and will culminate with a showcase presentation at a yet to be determined date. The season will run from approximately January 24-February 17. Registration is open now until January 13. Sign up here.
Coaches Needed for FLL Explore: We are also looking for coaches! This is a low level commitment with only 8 meetings - twice a week at school from 3:05pm-4:30pm. We will provide you with materials and plans, so no previous LEGO experience or engineering knowledge necessary. Each team will have two coaches so you will not be alone. If you are able to help coach, please express your interest in coaching on this form.
PV Girls Wrestling Club: Pleasant Valley Wrestling Club has some very exciting news! Starting Thursday January 12th we are starting an ALL GIRLS club wrestling practice. We will be holding this at Pleasant Valley High School from 6:00-7:15 pm. The cost this year will be FREE! There will be coaches with many years of experience to help teach the girls how to wrestle and have fun while doing it. High school girl wrestlers will be at practice to coach and mentor! Regardless of whether your daughter has wrestled her entire life or never at all and just wants to try it out, this is a perfect opportunity for her to learn more about the sport of wrestling! Quest for Christ is returning to Cody next week on Tuesday January 10th! This will take place in the art room from 7:30am-8:15am on Tuesday mornings. It is open to any child in 2nd thru 6th grades (if younger siblings need to attend- reach out to us) that attends Cody. Quest for Christ is 45 minutes of games, fun, small group discussion, worship, friends,and a Bible lesson. Click here to register.
