Jennifer Richardson, Principal at Riverdale Heights Elementary, in the Pleasant Valley School District, was a finalist for the 2023 Iowa Elementary Principal of the Year award. Jennifer was nominated by her peers for the award. She will be recognized at SAI’s Annual Conference.
Pleasant Valley’s goal is to have the finest academic and extracurricular programs in the state. Not in some things, but in all things. Not for some kids but for all kids. This guiding principle guides every decision Jennifer makes for her students, and Jennifer’s staff strives to achieve that goal each and every day, having received the state’s Breaking Barriers Award four times, under Jennifer’s leadership.
Jennifer Richardson has been an elementary principal in Pleasant Valley since 2012. Before coming to Pleasant Valley, Jennifer served as an Instructional Coach and classroom teacher in Colorado, after serving as a teacher in the Clinton Community School District upon graduation from the University of Iowa in 1996.
