We proudly announce that Jane Wheeler, the high school girls' cross country coach, has been named the 4A 2023 Cross Country Coach of the Year. This award highlights Coach Wheeler's exceptional commitment and contribution to the sport and her positive impact on the lives of her student-athletes at Pleasant Valley High School (PVHS).
Reflecting on her journey, Coach Wheeler shared, "I have been blessed with great coaches, teachers, and mentors in my life who helped me grow not only in sports but life. I feel fortunate to aspire to do the same for the student-athletes that I get to work with each day as a teacher and coach." Her approach goes beyond athletic training, emphasizing the holistic development of her students both in sports and in life.
D'Anne Kroemer, PVHS Athletic Director, also praised Coach Wheeler, stating, "We are very lucky to have Coach Wheeler leading PV Girls XC. Her knowledge of the sport, her passion, her dedication, and her commitment to PV runners and students make her very deserving of this award."
