Today, Riverdale Heights welcomed author & illustrator Alex Willan, creator of the popular Worst series; Unicorns Are the Worst!, Yetis Are the Worst!, Dragons Are the Worst!, and Elves Are the Worst!
Alex shared with Kindergarten–3rd grade students about his writing process, where ideas come from, and what it’s like to illustrate his own characters. The highlight? He taught students how to draw Gilbert the Goblin — and in a room of nearly 200 students, all eyes were on Alex as they listened closely and brought Gilbert the Goblin to life with their own drawings!
This week, Alex will visit K–3 students at all of our elementary schools, thanks to the support of our PTAs who make our visiting author series possible.
