The Iowa Department of Education recently launched a new partnership with National Math Stars, a program dedicated to supporting mathematically extraordinary students. As part of this recognition, the Department identified third graders who scored in the top 2% statewide on the mathematics Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) last spring. Out of more than 35,000 third graders across Iowa, just 764 students earned this distinction.
Here at Pleasant Valley, we are proud to share that 23 of those students come from our district, representing all six elementary schools. Each student received a medal to celebrate their achievement, honoring not only their hard work but also their excitement for learning.
