The Iowa Choral Directors Association has announced the results for the 2025 Opus Honor Choir — and Pleasant Valley has plenty to sing about! Out of 3,034 students who auditioned across Iowa, 35 PV students earned a spot in one of the prestigious statewide honor choirs. These ensembles, which include 5th–6th Grade, 7th–8th Grade Treble, 7th–8th Grade Bass Clef, and 9th Grade Mixed choirs, feature only 180 of the top vocalists in each group.
From over 100 recorded auditions to late nights refining every note, this achievement reflects the dedication, talent, and teamwork of both our students and our vocal music staff. “This result is indicative of the hard work, resilience, and dedication to student achievement in the PV vocal music department,” said Mr. Connors, PVHS Associate Choral Director. Pleasant Valley’s 35 honorees represent all grade levels and continue to place the district among the state’s top programs.
