It’s been an incredible month for the Pleasant Valley Cheer Program! Under the direction of Head Coach Veronica Cox, PV Cheer has been making its mark across Iowa with outstanding performances, historic selections, and top honors for teamwork and sportsmanship.
Last weekend, 16 Spartan cheerleaders traveled to Ames to participate in tryouts for the Iowa All-State Cheerleading Squad. PV made program history with five cheerleaders selected to the prestigious 25-member team — the most of any school in the state and the most in PV history!
Congratulations to Briellah Cox, Bel Gibbs, Fiona Treiber, Ella Armetta, and Cami Everitt on this incredible achievement.
The success continued on the competition floor. At the Iowa Spirit Spectacular hosted by the University of Iowa, PV Cheer earned first place in both the 4A Cheer/Dance and Game Time divisions, as well as first and second place in the 4A Group Stunt division. The following weekend at the Spartan Challenge at the University of Dubuque, the team repeated their success — again sweeping 4A Cheer/Dance and Game Time and taking first and second in 4A Group Stunt, along with the event’s top honor: the Sportsmanship Award.

Next up, PV Cheer will head to the Triton Challenge at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, followed by the Iowa State Cheerleading Championships in Des Moines. Congratulations to these student-athletes and coaches on representing Pleasant Valley with excellence - both on and off the mat.
