Our Pleasant Valley High School counselors recently shared their expertise at the Iowa School Counselor Association (ISCA) Conference in Des Moines. The team presented “Better Outcomes Require Big Changes: Developing a Tier 1 College and Career Readiness Program,” showcasing the innovative ways PV supports students’ postsecondary success.
During the session, the counselors outlined how Pleasant Valley’s College and Career Readiness Seminar helps every student build a strong plan for life after graduation. By creating a Tier 1 curriculum that uses existing school resources, the PV counseling team ensures that all students—more than 1,700 Spartans—receive consistent, high-quality support as they prepare for college and career opportunities.
Their proactive approach has led to remarkable results, including a 98% ICAP completion rate and increased participation in FAFSA and dual enrollment programs.
Pleasant Valley is proud of our counseling team for sharing their expertise and representing the district’s Commitment to Excellence at the state level.
