The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) annually sponsors five grade-level American Mathematics Competition (AMC) exams: 8,10A,10B,12A and 12B. Within these competition levels, awards and certificates are provided for young women in mathematics across all 50 states or regions. The “Jane Street” (a quantitative trading firm) funds 5 awards and 150 certificates supporting the AMC 12A exam results. 5 Certificate of Excellence awards were given in the state of Iowa with PVHS earning two of these. Congratulations to PVHS Seniors Emerson Peters and Kavya Kalathur.
The “Akami” (a global content delivery network, cybersecurity and cloud service company) also supports 5 awards and 150 certificates for the AMC 12B exam. Iowa students were awarded 6 AMC 12B Certificate of Excellence winners with PVHS students earning 2. Congratulations to PVHS Seniors Kavya Kalathur and Claire Haas.
