We are thrilled to announce that the Pleasant Valley Board of Education has unanimously approved the recommendation to hire Rachel Gotto as the next Principal of Hopewell Elementary.
Mrs. Gotto is currently the Dean of Students at Hopewell Elementary. She began her career at Pleasant Valley in 2004 as a teacher at Riverdale Heights. In 2012, she moved into the shared Dean of Students between Pleasant View and Riverdale Heights. During 2018-2021, she also served as Elementary Special Education Coordinator.
“I am beyond excited for this opportunity and am grateful for the experiences I have had within the district to prepare me for this next step!” said Mrs. Gotto. “Hopewell is a wonderful community because of the amazing families and staff that make it what it is. I am committed to embracing the positive traditions and practices that are already in place at Hopewell while working diligently to ensure success for your children both academically and social emotionally.”
Current Hopewell Principal, Tony Runkle, is retiring this year after 33 years in education. Over the next few months, Mrs. Gotto will work with Mr. Runkle and the Pleasant Valley Administrative Team on the transition.
