Hopewell Back to School 2022-23

Back to School Center

The 22-23 school year is fast approaching!!  Yay:)  Let this communication full of information serve as a great preparatory resource, as well as a reminder to get in those last few memories for the Summer of 2022.

One big change for 22-23 is Our new Dean, Rachel Gotto. We are so excited to have her join Hopewell.  Look for an introductory email in the near future!

On our plate for 22-23 is further inclusion of the Iowa Social Emotional Learning Competencies into our student’s academic day.  We have seen the difference this focus has on our entire building’s culture.  Specifically, the results of our 6th grade Conditions for Learning Survey indicated that Hopewell is continuing to grow to meet our students' needs.

We will also be making changes to our protocols for student entry in the morning and visitor (anyone who is not a student or staff) entry. These changes will be made to add another layer to our current safety plan. More information to follow n the coming weeks.

In closing, we are looking forward to a wonderful year providing excellent public education to all our students at Hopewell Elementary!  It is truly an honor and responsibility that is not taken lightly.

Tony Runkle

Hopewell, Principal
